Personal fear

I`ve been in this state of absence for a while, my days seem to roll into one, my future scares and i can`t seem to separate yesterday from the day before. Is it depression? Could be, with the stress of getting into post secondary, my job and some damaged relationships, it might as well be. There is this fear that many people claim to have or been through but I can`t imagine that because my fear is so PERSONAL. No one else could have felt this. No one else could fathom the absentmindedness, tears, and loneliness.

As I tried to lift myself out of this mood, by :

1. Listening to Katy Perry-fireworks
2. Listening to Miley Cyrus-When i look at you
3.Sewing <3
4.Sleeping until 3pm (crazy i know)
5.Researching and planning my next 6 months

I realized my fear is not personal, hundreds of people feel this burden of fear because of the unknown. The unknown for the next step really drives people up the wall, the unknown creates the sense of immediate failure. Why? This I can`t answer yet, but when I find it I will definitely share my knowledge.

Flaw Of Couture








I have told you about my plus size fashion line, Flaws of Couture. Fellow blogger from Deliciously fat and are in the works on a plus size fashion line. We are trendy young ladies looking to give the average plus size girl a spicy hot wardrobe.

We did a photo shoot a while back for our website Flaws Of Couture. It was a super fun shoot, we showed off our scarves and Toronto`s amazing street art.

Intimate and Interactive !!!!!!!!!

Every Friday night for the past couple months Sasha and I have been attending Toronto's open mic hosted by the gorgeous curvy Tika Simone. Intimate and interactive is about showcasing Toronto's amazing talent, and we have shit loads of it. Sasha my girl has an amazing voice and sang. I was so proud of her! This was a new year special "Celebration Of Gospel" and it was amazing. It was a very chill night with the girls. Whenever your in Toronto or if you live in Toronto and is looking for some fun on a Friday night Intimate and Interactive is the place to be.

Change or Challenge


Saturday December 31, 2010 I cleaned, rearranging bedrooms with my mother. Its this thing that we do when we are extremely stressed out and need a fresh start(even if its just the bed in a different position). It got darker and we got more tired, now getting frustrated because nothing was working. Fast forward my younger sister and cousins went with my mom to church to ring in the new year. I stayed home and sipped wine!

Overwhelmed by all the new years special going on I quickly change between MTV`s jersey new years, Carson`s special and Bet`s 106npark party. I kept flipping and laughing at how stupid that host was on the MTV`s special, she wasn`t funny! Like millions of people doing exactly the same thing as me, I waited for this overwhelming feeling of tears, sobs and shouting "Happy New Year", kissing some random hot guy... I waited, 11:50, waited... 11:55, waited some more 11:59:50... 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1... but not a damn thing happened. I said a prayer thanking god for bringing me to 2011 and downed the rest of my wine.

So two days into 2011 I asked everyone at work how there new years went, everyone had fun, they either partied, went to church and partied or spent it with that special someone. UGH please...

One of our regular customers surprised me when I asked how her new years went. "My new years was here two days ago and now its gone,I still got the same debts, same problems but the one thing I hoped would change was that one second where 2010 was going and 2011 was coming. I wish it was longer."

She without knowing it she summed up how I was feeling for these past two days. All I wanted was the change to take longer to happen. My mood is now fixed, my outlook on 2011 is now different, 2011 seems more approachable and less challenging that's all I was looking for. Thank you ♥

Unbelievable but Necessary

I am sorry to anyone who follows or views my blog for not posting in a VERY long time.

Moments ago I went to SoundBites blog for my daily check up (love this blog)and read her recent post about an article written in Marie Claire by blogger Maura Kelly. In the article she expressed what she felt about a new CBC sitcom called "Mike and Molly" starring a couple, both overweight and dealing with relationships and their struggles. Confused, I googled the article, read it and could not believe she had the guts to write this. Then I realized that though her comments were hurtful, disrespectful and ignorant she just expressed what millions think about when they see "FAT" people.

There are hundreds of movements created by women all over the world daily to help motivate and educate women on their bodies and acceptance. Then to have Maura Kelly write "I think I’d be grossed out if I had to watch two characters with rolls and rolls of fat kissing each other … because I’d be grossed out if I had to watch them doing anything. To be brutally honest, even in real life, I find it aesthetically displeasing to watch a very, very fat person simply walk across a room — just like I’d find it distressing if I saw a very drunk person stumbling across a bar or a heroine addict slumping in a chair."

SHE JUST COMPARED A FAT PERSON TO A DRUNK!!!!!

The saddest part about this ordeal and article is that she is only one of hundreds, maybe thousands of ignorant and uneducated people that think being fat or overweight people are shameful and disgusting. Though this article may have reared up the "FAT" world it is something we must face, we need to, in times like these, stand strong and keep breaking the walls we have built up in fear of being criticized for our appearance.

For Maura Kelly I want to thank you because sometimes people forget that though they are trying to better the world one woman, man or child at a time they need to endure pain and face obstacles and criticism like you have offered. If the criticism and obstacles stop them from moving forward they were never strong enough to make a change.

Flaws Of Couture.... we are finally here!!!

For many of you who have been following my and Sasha from deliciouslyfat you know that we have a dress line coming out very soon called Flaws of Couture. It is geared towards plus size women; it came to us from personal experiences struggling to find trendy, sexy, comfortable dresses. SO when we couldn't find it we decided its time to take the plus size industry by storm !!!!!

The exciting things that have already happened:
1-WE ARE OFFICIAL!! Flaws Of Couture have been patent and we own it.
2-PHOTOSHOOT!!! We have done a photo shoot for our upcoming website.
3-WIRED!!! We have already begun work on creating out official domain, with a web designer and all.
4-ACCESSORIZE!!! In the mean time while our dresses are being made we wanted to target winter fashion by making one of a kind scarves. They are unique designs that will fierce up any outfit.

Celebrity Fridays!!

Just like any one of you I have my favorite celebrities that I am obsessed with and it can get a little creepy the thing I search up for them. Recently the daughter of one of my favorite men in black, Willow Smith daughter of Will Smith has been hitting up the internet world with her out there fashion sense, rihanna inspired hair style and her music. I was not too shocked about the way she dressed because she is the daughter of a celebrity and seems like the creative, artistic type. Her music on the other hand came as a shocker because when I first heard it I thought it was Rihanna, but after the intro I realized it was a much younger voice and nearly fell off my seat. Her song is called "Whip my hair" and it is frigging amazing, the blog and media world are going crazy for her. I currently have it as my ringtone, and never gets dull.

I am just amazed by her talent as she is only 9 years old!!! I salute you Willow Smith, continue to whip your hair. :-)

Cool Calm Collected

As the summer heat dries out and teenagers like myself head off to college,or back to high school to enjoy the rest of their controlled freedom; kids first day at school and a overwhelmed mom waves goodbye, it occurred to me that life has its moments and cycles.






And all we can do is live, laugh and love right through these cycles instead of watching as the world goes on.

I am wearing a faith21 dark denim, payless flats, thrifted jacket and a pashmina from my mother, ring from stiches and a old navy classic black t-shirt.

Shopping !!!!

As fall is approaching I realize I need to go and do some damage to my account because I barely have anything to keep me warm that`s stylish for the cold weather. Yikes! This season I am seeing a lot of over sized sweaters,cardigans and tops being paired with crop pants. As well one of my favorite things are leggings and normally I would double up in winter because they are thin but I have been seeing thick leggings, almost a pant material but is soft and comfortable like leggings. The military jacket was in last season but has made a return and I might get one, they are great to style up a casual outfit or dress down a fancy one.

As a fashion blogger I feel ashamed (only a little) because of my shoe collection, it`s horrible. I have barely any heels,I think they all walked out on me, and none of some of the essentials.I need more stockings especially the printed ones, and i need way more dresses to get ready for the holiday parties.

Fall is upon us!

Fall is here, aren`t you excited?

It is really sad to say goodbye to summer, with all the sunshine,flowers,short shorts and everything bright, but I am excited for FALL! I have already been shopping and got some amazing pieces I will be sharing later. Fall makes me get a little teary eyed but I am ready to express myself and take on orange leaves and soggy shoes.

It occurred to me that sexy is a word used very often in every day conversations and I wondered What do people really thin is sexy?

I personally think sexy comes in different categories, and often gets jumbled into one which is is she hot or not? Women can be sexy covered from head to toe, sexy when they speak and sexy when they are powerful. Feeling sexy is a feeling EVERY single woman should FEEL and you are no exception. One thing I admire about all of my friends is that feeling sexy becomes apart of their daily lives. They will wake up,get dressed, put on makeup then take a double look at themselves and smile even laugh at just how gorgeous and sexy they are. So i challenge you to take a double look in the mornings or whenever you are going out at how sexy you are, it does not mean wearing the most revealing top but could just be the way your hair is. And remember if you love to show off what you have that's sexy too.
